Pure SnO2 nanostructure was successfully synthesized using simple hydrothermal method. The properties of the synthesized samples were characterized using XRD (X Ray Diffraction) spectroscopy, SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) and FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared) spectroscopy. The photocatalytic efficiency of the synthesized samples were investigated towards the degradation of Malachite Green dye. The nanoparticle with precursor concentration of 0.08M was found to be the most efficient catalyst for the wastewater treatment which degrades 98% of the dye under 3 hours of UV irradiation.
