Associating ridesourcing with road safety outcomes: Insights from Austin, Texas

Eleftheria Kontou et al.

Summary: The study analyzes the impact of ridesourcing on road safety outcomes in Travis County, Texas, finding a negative correlation between ridesourcing use and road crashes, injuries, and DWI offenses, but not road fatalities. The research method enriches existing work by providing a data-rich approach for assessing the impacts of ridesourcing use on transportation system safety, potentially serving as a template for future analyses in other cities.

Commuting accidents of Spanish professional drivers: when occupational risk exceeds the workplace

Javier Llamazares et al.

Summary: This study examined and described commuting traffic crashes of Spanish professional drivers over the past 12 years, finding that characteristics of commuting crashes were associated with demographic and job-related variables of the drivers. The study also identified different trends in accident severity and characteristics based on drivers' gender, time slots, and the specific hour of the event.
