Exploring children's participation in commercial swimming lessons through the social determinants of health

Stacey M. Willcox-Pidgeon et al.

Summary: The study examines the swimming and water safety skills achieved by children attending commercial swimming lessons in three Australian states. It shows a gap in the teaching and achievement of certain skills, especially water safety skills. Children from low socio-economic areas and regional locations are less likely to achieve the 50-meter freestyle benchmark.
