Imagining a Trans* Epistemology: What Liberation Thinks Like in Postsecondary Education

Summary: Postsecondary institutions, like society, perpetuate trans* oppression and produce knowledge that reinforces the notion of trans* lives as abject and incomprehensible. This article calls for a trans* epistemology to help educators unlearn gender binary logic and transform education towards liberation.

LGBTQ+ college students with disabilities: demographic profile and perceptions of well-being

Summary: This study examines the experiences of 140 LGBTQ+ college students with disabilities in the United States, highlighting issues in mental and physical health, utilization of disability accommodations, and social marginalization. The findings suggest that while students generally have positive evaluations of their sexual and gender identities as well as physical health, there are concerns regarding mental health symptoms.
