Summary: This study explored the challenges faced by abused mothers in the custody determination process, as well as their feelings and coping strategies when facing negative outcomes. The experiences of mothers were categorized into three phases: trust, adaptation, and coping, emphasizing the importance of further training and policies to reduce the burden and harm for survivors and their children in the custody determination process.
