Polyimide separators for rechargeable batteries

Ziheng Lu et al.

Summary: Separators are essential components of modern electrochemical energy storage devices, with thermally stable polyimide separators offering a promising solution to the safety concerns of lithium-ion batteries. Recent research has focused on molecular design and microstructural control of polyimide separators, with advances also in applications for advanced chemistries beyond LIBs such as lithium-sulfur, lithium-metal, and solid-state batteries.
