The mechanisms for the formation of syndiotactic PLA by the ROP of meso-LA using a chiral-Al complex are revealed through DFT calculations. Contributions towards stereoselectivity have been analyzed, confirming the importance of peculiar chiral recognition for stereocontrolled ROP polymerization.
