Granuloma annulare and necrobiosis lipoidica are two rare dermatoses with granulomatous tissue components, often presenting as therapy-refractory and chronic. Associations with diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease, and dyslipidemia have been suspected for a long time but have not been reliably proven statistically yet.
Granuloma annulare and necrobiosis lipoidica are two rarely occurring dermatoses with gynecotropy and granulomatous tissue components with mostly therapy-refractory, highly chronic course. Associations with diabetes mellitus, thyroid disease and dyslipidemia have been suspected for a long time, but have not yet been reliably proven statistically.
