Distribution, contamination status and source of trace elements in the soil around brick kilns

Sazal Kumar et al.

Summary: This study investigated the distribution, contamination level, and possible sources of 54 metal(oid)s in the soils surrounding brick kilns in south-western Bangladesh. Results indicate that some metals exceeded their shale values and coal combustion in brick kilns is a primary source of certain metals in the soil.

In-car particulate matter exposure across ten global cities

Prashant Kumar et al.

Summary: Cars are crucial for commuting worldwide, but they also significantly contribute to air pollution. Research on ten cities shows that PM2.5 and PM10 concentrations are highest when car windows are opened, followed by when fans are on and recirculation. Fine particles dominate air pollution during fan-on and recirculation conditions.
