This paper conducts a comprehensive analysis of crowd evacuation research using reference co-citation analysis, author co-citation analysis, and keyword co-occurrence analysis. It identifies key issues and future research directions in the field of crowd evacuation.
This paper analyzes literatures on crowd evacuation based on data extracted from Web of Science by applying bibliometric approaches. In specific, reference co-citation analysis, author co-citation analysis, and keyword co-occurrence analysis are adopted to analyze the data with CiteSpace and VOSViewer. This paper makes the following contributions. First, reference co-citation analysis identifies five clusters in the studies on crowd evacuation. Second, author co-citation analysis identifies highly cited authors and categorizes them into three groups. Third, keyword co-occurrence analysis identifies the hotpots in the field of crowd evacuation and points out the directions for future studies.
