Chondroitin sulfate-based nanoparticles for enhanced chemo-photodynamic therapy overcoming multidrug resistance and lung metastasis of breast cancer

Summary: The study developed novel redox-responsive chondroitin sulfate-based nanoparticles for enhanced chemo-photodynamic therapy to overcome multidrug resistance and lung metastasis of breast cancer. In vitro experiments showed that the nanoparticles were able to down-regulate P-glycoprotein expression and improve anticancer efficacy. Additionally, NIR laser irradiation induced nanoparticles to generate reactive oxygen species, effectively inhibiting multidrug resistance and metastasis in breast cancer.
