Heterogeneous excitable systems exhibit Griffiths phases below hybrid phase transitions

Geza Odor et al.

Summary: In high-dimensional threshold models, the existence of Griffiths phases in homogeneous modular networks is found, attributed to the fragmentation of activity propagation. This provides a widespread mechanism for the occurrence of dynamical criticality in the extended Griffiths phase parameter spaces of threshold-type heterogeneous systems.
