First Measurement of Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering on Argon

D. Akimov et al.

Summary: We present the first measurement of coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering (CEvNS) on argon using a liquid argon detector at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory Spallation Neutron Source. Two independent analyses support CEvNS over the background-only null hypothesis with more than 3 sigma significance. The measured cross section, averaged over the incident neutrino flux, is (2.2 +/- 0.7) x 10(-39) cm(2)-consistent with the standard model prediction, confirming the existence of the CEvNS process and providing improved constraints on nonstandard neutrino interactions.

The continuous readout stream of the MicroBooNE liquid argon time projection chamber for detection of supernova burst neutrinos

P. Abratenko et al.

Summary: The MicroBooNE continuous readout stream allows for the detection of non-beam events such as supernova neutrino bursts. Triggering on these events is challenging due to the low energies of supernova neutrinos and the intense cosmic-ray background flux. The use of real-time compression algorithms in the FPGA for data reduction, and reliance on delayed triggers from SNEWS, demonstrate the capability of the continuous stream to detect low-energy events.

On the rate of core collapse supernovae in the milky way

Karolina Rozwadowska et al.

Summary: This study combines multiple data sources, including statistical techniques, neutrino telescopes, and electromagnetic surveys, to explore the detection of neutrinos produced by gravitational collapse in the Milky Way, yielding an estimated rate of R = 1.63 +/- 0.46 (per 100 yr)(-1). The importance of updating the analysis of the stellar birthrate method is emphasized in the research findings.

Exciting prospects for detecting late-time neutrinos from core-collapse supernovae

Shirley Weishi Li et al.

Summary: The detection of neutrinos from a Milky Way core-collapse supernova is crucial, especially during the understudied proto-neutron star cooling phase. With higher statistics expected from present and near-future detectors, detailed neutrino signals during this phase can be measured, providing insights into the properties and formation process of neutron stars.
