Quantification of artificial sweeteners in alcoholic drinks using direct analysis in real-time QTRAP mass spectrometry

Xiaomin Li et al.

Summary: This study presents a robust method for simultaneous screening and quantitation of seven artificial sweeteners in alcoholic drinks using direct analysis in real time coupled with QTRAP mass spectrometry. The method is simple, linear, with low limit of quantification and accurate in monitoring the artificial sweeteners in various alcoholic beverages. The approach described could be suitable for large-scale application in routine quality control analysis of artificial sweeteners.

Magnetic molecularly imprinting polymers, reduced graphene oxide, and zeolitic imidazolate frameworks modified electrochemical sensor for the selective and sensitive detection of catechin

Yafen Fu et al.

Summary: The glassy carbon electrode modified with magnetic molecularly imprinted polymers (mMIPs) showed good selectivity and sensitivity for catechin detection. After optimization, the mMIPs/rGO-ZIF-8/GCE exhibited good linearity, a low detection limit, and high stability. This electrochemical sensor could be further developed for practical applications.

Preparation and characterization of PCL-grafted zein film via atmospheric-pressure cold plasma pretreatment

Shuang Dong et al.

Summary: The water resistance property of zein film was significantly improved by grafting polycaprolactone (PCL) onto the film after atmospheric-pressure cold plasma (ACP) pretreatment. The findings showed that ACP modification enhanced the grafting ability of the film, making it a promising approach for packaging applications in zein-based polymers. Fourier-transform infrared spectrum and X-ray diffraction patterns confirmed the successful grafting of PCL and the sensitivity of alpha-helix packing to plasma treatment.

Surface molecular imprinting on polystyrene resin for selective adsorption of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid

Yue Sun et al.

Summary: This study developed a molecularly imprinted resin (MIR) using chloromethylated polystyrene resin, N,N-diethylaminoethyl methacrylate, and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as support, functional monomer, and cross-linker for the selective adsorption of 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (4-HB). The MIR exhibited high adsorption capacity and favorable selectivity towards 4-HB, making it a promising material for interference-free adsorption in mixed solutions.
