Strain derivative of thermoelectric properties as a sensitive probe for nematicity

F. Caglieris et al.

Summary: In this study, the thermoelectric transport properties of two underdoped 1111 iron-based superconductors were found to exhibit a strong response to small strains, revealing that the nematic phenomenology in transport is a result of the interplay between anisotropic scattering time and Fermi surface distortions. The nematic fluctuations were shown to relax in a Curie-Weiss fashion above T-S in all elasto-transport measurements, suggesting that nematicity must be band selective.
