\Molecular Dynamics Study of the Interface Effect on the Fracture of a Heterostructure under Uniaxial Tension

I. F. Golovnev et al.

Summary: The presence of an interface aligned in the direction of tensile loading axis strengthens the metal heterostructure during constant-rate uniaxial tension. The inflow of atoms of one metal into voids in the subsystem of another metal and the change in paths of Chernov-Luders bands when crossing the interface contribute to smaller displacements of atomic planes in each metal.
