The study investigates the effects of phosphorus and carbon on the crystallization and magnetic properties of iron-based soft magnetic amorphous alloy containing up to 22 at.% B. The composition and heat treatment of the alloy with the best soft magnetic properties are determined through experiments.
The effect of phosphorus and carbon on crystallization and magnetic properties of iron-based soft magnetic amorphous alloy containing up to 22 at.% B is studied. Ribbons with compositions FeaSi6B22PbCcNb0.85Cu0.65 (a = 68, 66, 64 and 62; b = 2.5, 1.5, 1.25 and 1; c = 0, 3, 2.25 and 7.5) are fabricated by melt spinning. Crystallization of the alloy under heating and its properties are studied by x-ray diffractometry, differential scanning calorimetry, and vibrating sample magnetometry. The composition and the heat treatment of the alloy with the best soft magnetic properties are determined.
