Magnetic anomalies associated with domain wall freezing and coupled electron hopping in magnetite nanorods

Raja Das et al.

Summary: Research on magnetite has shown that low temperature anomalies in highly crystalline, stoichiometric Fe3O4 nanorods are related to the relaxation of Fe+2 extra electrons and domain wall motion, which lead to a peak around 35K. The complex nature of low-temperature magnetic behavior in nanostructured magnetite was revealed through DC, AC and TS susceptibility studies.
