Biomass potential of drill interseeded cover crops in corn in Kentucky

Victoria L. Stanton et al.

Summary: Drill interseeding is an alternative method for establishing annual cover crops, but its success can be influenced by regional weather and management practices. This study found that different soil-residual herbicide rates did not affect the establishment of orchardgrass and annual ryegrass in corn fields, but orchardgrass was better suited for interseeding with limited biomass due to low plant survival rates.

Aligning science and policy of regenerative agriculture

Mahdi M. Al-Kaisi et al.

Summary: Conventional agriculture accounts for a significant portion of greenhouse gas emissions in the US, while regenerative agriculture practices such as no-till have shown to help reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Despite widespread global adoption of regenerative agriculture, there is still a need for additional research, technology transfer, and policy articulation to further improve efficiency and impact.
