Different experiments were conducted to find better replacements for conventional diesel in engines, comparing diesel-water emulsion with eucalyptus-water emulsion as alternative fuels. The study showed that diesel-water emulsion performs better than traditional diesel, while eucalyptus-water emulsion is a convincing replacement for E20 biodiesel.
Different experiments were done to find better replacement for the diesel used in conventional engines. These experiments were executed in two similar phases but with meagre changes. The conventional fossil diesel is taken as the assessment fuel in both the phases. The first phase deals with water-emulsion and E20 green diesel as test samples. Whilst, on other part, the second phase deals with Eucalyptuswater emulsion and E20 biodiesel as test fuels. Various proportions of diesel-water emulsions were taken into account with their respective blends and their emission performance, combustion parameters and efficiency are analyzed and compared. From the analyses, it implies that the brake thermal efficiency (BTE) is nearly enough to the diesel-water emulsion, for the eucalyptus-water emulsion. Likewise, the emission parameters were diminished with eucalyptus in water emulsion when correlated with dieselwater emulsion. Henceforth, diesel-water emulsion proves to be a better fuel than conventional diesel. Nevertheless, the eucalyptus-water emulsion is found to be a convincing replacement fuel for E20 biodiesel.
