Cyrus Aghamolla et al.

Summary: The study reveals that managers disclose information even if it leads to a price decrease in the current period in order to increase the option value of withholding disclosure in the future. Empirical predictions show that disclosure patterns are negatively correlated over time, and stock return skewness is negatively correlated with lagged returns for companies with low uncertainty on future profitability, in competitive industries, and in industries with limited public news information.
