Superconductivity and charge density wave order in the two-dimensional Holstein model

Owen Bradley et al.

Summary: The Holstein Hamiltonian describes fermions interacting with phonons on a lattice. It predicts the behavior of dressed quasiparticles and the formation of superconducting and charge density wave phases at different densities. Quantum Monte Carlo calculations have been used to determine critical temperatures for these phase transitions in various lattice geometries.

Spectral properties and enhanced superconductivity in renormalized Migdal-Eliashberg theory

Benjamin Nosarzewski et al.

Summary: The Migdal-Eliashberg theory describes the properties of electronphono-mediated superconductors and requires a consistent consideration of electron and phonon self-energies. In this study, a method is proposed to obtain real-axis solutions of the Migdal-Eliashberg equations, which shows significant impact of self-consistently including lowest-order correction to the phonon self-energy. The analysis reveals enhanced superconductivity and surprising differences in electron-phonon coupling strength definitions.
