Summary: By using CRISPR/Cas9 technology, three mutations of the OsIPK1 gene were identified in rice, with the OsIPK1_1 mutation showing lower phytic acid levels and improved tolerance to salt and drought stresses. This mutant also exhibited significant differences in levels of phytic acid, reactive oxygen species, and antioxidant enzyme activities, as well as upregulated expression of stress response genes under stress conditions, indicating its potential applications in rice breeding and production.
