Nanotechnology in emerging liquid biopsy applications

Despina P. Kalogianni

Summary: Liquid biopsy, as an attractive alternative to traditional tissue biopsies, offers advantages such as non-invasiveness, rapid sample collection, early cancer diagnosis, and real-time monitoring. The use of nanotechnology in liquid biopsy applications provides benefits like high sensitivity, detectability, simplicity, rapid analysis, low cost, and potential for personalized medicine. The developed nanomaterial-based methods and sensors exhibit great analytical performance and extremely low detection limits for various targets.
