Millimeter-Wave Dielectric Waveguide-Based Leaky-Wave Antenna Array

Summary: A four-element leaky-wave antenna array configuration based on a dielectric slab waveguide is presented, with open-stopband suppression, operating in the K-alpha band. A one-to-four power divider using Y-junctions has been developed for the feed network of the antenna array, resulting in a decrease in beamwidth of the radiation pattern in the transverse plane and obtaining a frequency-scanning pencil-beam radiation pattern. The array is placed above a planar metal reflector to increase the radiation gain.
