Climate neutral livestock production - A radiative forcing -based climate footprint approach

Bradley Ridoutt

Summary: The goal of limiting global temperature rise to 1.5 degrees C depends on urgent action to stabilize radiative forcing (RF). RF climate footprints provide a clear way to articulate the diverse climate impacts of short and long-lived climate forcers, avoiding policy ambiguity. This new RF framework aligns food systems with the aspirations of the Paris Agreement and is applicable to all sectors and organizations in managing and stabilizing RF downward.
