The study aimed to use diphenylamine as a nano additive with pine oil for biodiesel. The experimental results showed that the use of nano additives can significantly improve performance characteristics and reduce emissions.
The present study is aimed to use of diphenylamine as nano additive with pine oil as biodiesel. The experiment is conducted on four stroke single cylinder CI engine to evaluate the performance and emission characteristics and compared with biodiesel without additive. The nano particles are added as fuel additives to biodiesel blend B20 (20% pine oil biodiesel and 80% diesel). The nano additives are mixed to biodiesel using the process called ultrasonication. The experimental outcome has shown that, the use of nano additive with biodiesel has results in increase in performance characteristics like BTE and ME is increased around 4.3% and 5.11% than biodiesel without additive and emissions like CO, CO2 and HC are reduced almost 28.33%, 12.5% and 11.53% respectively with additives compared to B20 without nano particles.
