The first report of deep eutectic solvent (DES) nano-photocatalyst (n-TiO2-P25@TDI@DES(urea:ZnCl2)) and its application on selective oxidation of benzyl alcohols to benzaldehydes

Shaghayegh Taghavi et al.

Summary: This study presents the synthesis of a nano photocatalyst with photo catalytic activity for oxidizing benzyl alcohols to their corresponding carbonyl compounds. The nano photocatalyst was obtained through covalent grafting of TiO2-P25 nanoparticles to a highly reactive linker, showing enhanced catalytic activity and environmentally friendly nature. Characterization techniques including FT-IR, XRD, TGA, SEM with EDX, and elemental analysis were used to investigate the efficient nanocatalyst.

Realizing the synergistic effect of electronic modulation over graphitic carbon nitride for highly efficient photodegradation of bisphenol A and 2-mercaptobenzothiazole: Mechanism, degradation pathway and density functional theory calculation

Liquan Jing et al.

Summary: In this study, a brown carbon nitride co-modified with oxygen bridges and porous defects was successfully synthesized via a universal acylation method. Results showed that the material had a significantly higher removal rate for bisphenol A and 2-mercaptobenzothiazole compared to the original carbon nitride. Further analysis revealed a potential photocatalytic degradation pathway with key factors including hydroxyl radicals, superoxide radicals, singlet oxygen, and holes.

Design of p-n homojunctions in metal-free carbon nitride photocatalyst for overall water splitting

Gang Zhao et al.

Summary: In this study, two-dimensional carbon nitride photocatalysts with heterogeneous structures were successfully prepared and exhibited high photocatalytic activity. The photocatalysts showed promising results for overall water splitting processes, with hydrogen and oxygen production rates reaching 270.95 mu mol h(-1) g(-1) and 115.21 mu mol h(-1) g(-1) in 7 hours, respectively. Various tests and analyses confirmed the high efficiency of the photocatalysts, which can promote their development in the field.
