Massively Parallel Circuit Setup in GPU-SPICE

Victor M. van Santen et al.

Summary: SPICE simulations have been the industry standard for circuit analysis for decades, but their computational complexity limits their practicality for larger circuits. To address this, GPUs are being used to speed up certain phases of the simulation. However, this article points out that the circuit setup phase is also a significant bottleneck when dealing with large circuits. The authors demonstrate that their GPU-based circuit setup significantly reduces analysis time compared to both open-source and commercial SPICE tools.

Impact of Self-Heating on Negative-Capacitance FinFET: Device-Circuit Interaction

Om Prakash et al.

Summary: This study analyzes the impact of self-heating effects on 14-nm negative capacitance (NC)-FinFET performance at both the device and circuit level through TCAD simulations and calibration. It is found that self-heating effects dominate in the gigahertz range for both FinFET and NC-FinFET, leading to performance degradation at the circuit level.
