Insights into RNA-dependent RNA Polymerase Inhibitors as Anti-influenza Virus Agents

Ilaria Giacchello et al.

Summary: This review provides an overview of RdRp inhibitors discussed in literature since 2000, highlighting their importance as a new strategy to combat viral infections. Some of these inhibitors have already been approved by the FDA, demonstrating their significance and potential. Despite the complexity in discovering new compounds due to the RdRp machine, it is expected that in the coming years, this field will attract more interest from academic and industrial scientists.

In silicodrug design and molecular docking studies targeting Akt1 (RAC-alpha serine/threonine-protein kinase) and Akt2 (RAC-beta serine/threonine-protein kinase) proteins and investigation of CYP (cytochrome P450) inhibitors against MAOB (monoamine oxidase B) for OSCC (oral squamous cell carcinoma) treatment

Mohammad Kawsar Sharif Siam et al.

Summary: The overexpression of Akt1 and Akt2 is a hallmark of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OSCC) prevalent in South Asian countries. In this study, potential leads for OSCC treatment, Galuteolin and Linarin, were identified as inhibitors of Akt1 and Akt2 without affecting MAOB expression. Additionally, five CYP inhibitors - Diosmetin, Acacetin, Epicatechin, Eriodictyol, and Capillin, were found to inhibit MAOB without interference with Akt1 and Akt2, suggesting potential for treating diseases and cancers caused by MAOB overexpression.
