Ultrasound evidence for a two-component superconducting order parameter in Sr2RuO4

S. Benhabib et al.

Summary: Ultrasound experiments show that the superconducting order parameter in strontium ruthenate must have two components. The nature of its superconducting order parameter is still under debate. The observed sharp jump in the shear elastic constant directly implies the superconducting order parameter is of a two-component nature.

Thermodynamic evidence for a two-component superconducting order parameter in Sr2RuO4

Sayak Ghosh et al.

Summary: Sr2RuO4 has been considered the leading candidate for a spin-triplet superconductor for 26 years, but recent experiments have raised doubts. Observations of a thermodynamic discontinuity in the shear elastic modulus suggest a two-component superconducting order parameter. Therefore, two other two-component order parameters are now seen as the prime candidates for the order parameter of Sr2RuO4.

Split superconducting and time-reversal symmetry-breaking transitions in Sr2RuO4 under stress

Vadim Grinenko et al.

Summary: The study on the superconductivity of strontium ruthenate revealed that applying strain can lead to a splitting between the onset of superconductivity and the breaking of time-reversal symmetry, indicating a possible chiral d-wave order parameter. Furthermore, the appearance of bulk magnetic order was observed under higher uniaxial stress above a critical pressure in Sr2RuO4.

Inhomogeneous time-reversal symmetry breaking in Sr2RuO4

Roland Willa et al.

Summary: The time-reversal symmetry breaking in the superconducting state of Sr2RuO4 is attributed to inhomogeneous strain fields near edge dislocations of the crystal. The strong strain inhomogeneities generated by dislocations result in a slowly decaying subleading pairing state contributing significantly to the condensate, leading to the local breaking of time-reversal symmetry.

Orbital-dependent self-energy effects and consequences for the superconducting gap structure in multiorbital correlated electron systems

Kristofer Bjornson et al.

Summary: This theoretical study examines the impact of electronic correlations on the superconducting gap structure of multiband superconductors, showing that self-energy effects can lead to an inversion of orbital-resolved spin susceptibility and change the hierarchy of important orbital channels for superconducting pairing. These self-energy feedback effects are expected to be relevant for superconductivity in strongly correlated multiorbital systems.

Shadowed triplet pairings in Hund's metals with spin-orbit coupling

Jonathan Clepkens et al.

Summary: This study examines the generation of nontrivial pairing symmetries and the hidden triplet nature associated with interorbital pairing through momentum-dependent SOC in multiorbital systems. Using a microscopic model, several forms of SOC with d-wave form factors are derived, leading to the stabilization of a pairing state with s + id(xy) symmetry under certain parameters. This unique pairing state is differentiated from conventional spin-singlet and -triplet pairings by its pseudospin-energy locking characteristic.
