A visible light-driven metal-free route has been developed to access highly substituted pyrroles using benzophenone as a photocatalyst under solvent-free conditions. The photoinduced C-H functionalisation adds structural variety and complexity to the final products, demonstrating the potential of this transformation.
A visible light-driven metal-free route to access unprecedented highly substituted pyrroles is reported. Benzophenone is employed as an accessible photocatalyst under solvent-free conditions to deliver targeted products in high yields. A photoinduced C-H functionalisation renders structural variety and complexity to the final products showcasing the potential of the transformation.
