Management of unruptured intracranial aneurysms: correlation of UIATS, ELAPSS, and PHASES with referral center practice

James Feghali et al.

Summary: The study investigated the concordance between UIATS, ELAPSS, and PHASES scores with real-world management decisions for unruptured intracranial aneurysms. Findings showed good concordance with UIATS, while ELAPSS and PHASES scores demonstrated different levels of discrimination. Endovascular treatment rates, complications, and LOS were similar between UIATS-recommended treatment and observation groups, with wide variation still existing in management practices.

Safety of Aspirin Use in Patients With Stroke and Small Unruptured Aneurysms

Jian-Cong Weng et al.

Summary: The study found that aspirin is a safe treatment for patients with small UIAs and ICVD, while uncontrolled hypertension and UIAs with a diameter of 5 to <7 mm are associated with a higher rate of aneurysm rupture.

External Validation of the PHASES Score in Patients with Multiple Intracranial Aneurysms

Xin Feng et al.

Summary: In this study, the PHASES score was found to be a weak tool in decision-making settings for MIAs patients. More accurate models should be developed for MIAs patients, and the cumulative effect of MIA should be taken into consideration.
