Isogeometric dual reciprocity boundary element method for solving transient heat conduction problems with heat sources

Summary: A new isogeometric dual reciprocity boundary element method (IG-DRBEM) is proposed in this paper to solve transient heat transfer problems with heat sources. By introducing the dual reciprocity method, the method can solve transient heat transfer problems conveniently without the need to divide elements within the domain, maintaining the advantage of the isogeometric boundary element method.

Sensitivity analysis of acoustic eigenfrequencies by using a boundary element method

Summary: This paper presents a boundary element-based scheme for the sensitivity analysis of acoustic eigenfrequencies, reformulating the nonlinear eigenvalue problem into a lower-dimensional generalized eigenvalue problem through contour integral approach. The sensitivity formulations for acoustic eigenfrequencies are derived based on an adjoint method, with the use of the adaptive cross approximation and hierarchical matrices to reduce solution burden. The Burton-Miller-type combined formulation is applied to shift spurious eigenfrequencies and their sensitivities, with strategies for identifying spurious results suggested.
