Criteria for projected discovery and exclusion sensitivities of counting experiments

Prudhvi N. Bhattiprolu et al.

Summary: The projected discovery and exclusion capabilities in particle physics and astrophysics/cosmology experiments are often quantified using median expected p-values or significance, which can lead to flawed results. Alternatives should be considered, especially when background information is known or uncertain. Standard use of the exact Asimov significance ZA is advocated.

Search for squarks and gluinos in final states with jets and missing transverse momentum using 139 fb-1 of √s=13 TeV pp collision data with the ATLAS detector

M. Aaboud et al.

Summary: This study presents a search for the supersymmetric partners of quarks and gluons (squarks and gluinos) in final states containing jets and missing transverse momentum, excluding electrons or muons. Results showed exclusion limits on the mass of the gluino and squark masses, significantly expanding the region of supersymmetric parameter space previously excluded by similar searches with the ATLAS detector.

Higgsino dark matter in the MSSM

Antonio Delgado et al.

Summary: The study focuses on a cosmologically stable neutral component from a nearly pure SU(2) doublet as a candidate for dark matter, with a mass of around 1.1 TeV. Investigating the role of Higgsino as dark matter in the context of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model, the search for light supersymmetric spectra in models with universal and nonuniversal Higgs and gaugino Majorana masses is discussed. The possibilities for detecting the lightest supersymmetric particles, gluino, top squark, and stau, in future collider experiments are also explored.
