A dual-active Co-CoO heterojunction coupled with Ti3C2-MXene for highly-performance overall water splitting

Dezheng Guo et al.

Summary: The development of cost-effective and efficient catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is crucial for practical water splitting. In this study, a novel bifunctional HER/OER electrocatalyst was proposed by coupling a Co-based heterojunction with Ti3C2-MXene, showing excellent activity and stability. The catalyst demonstrated low onset potential and high Faradaic efficiency, making it ideal for consecutive production of hydrogen and oxygen gases using solar cell power.

Pyridine-modulated Ni/Co bimetallic metal-organic framework nanoplates for electrocatalytic oxygen evolution

Yang Bai et al.

Summary: In this study, 2D Ni/Co bimetallic MOF nanoplates with well-defined morphology were synthesized via a simple pyridine-modulated solvothermal method, showing high OER electrocatalytic activity in alkaline conditions. The excellent catalytic performance can be attributed to the inherited 2D morphology and the optimized bimetallic ratio within the nanoplates.
