A lesson from earthquake engineering for selectively damaging cancer cell structures

Summary: The progressive breakdown of barriers between disciplines has opened up new possibilities in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Collaborative efforts in various fields have led to the rethinking of unresolved problems and the exploration of innovative strategies, such as using ultrasound to alter cancer cell behavior. Recent research has shown that mechanical resonance and vibrations induced in cancer cells at low intensity therapeutic ultrasound frequencies could pave the way for future treatment protocols.
