In this study, NiO wrinkle micro/nanostructures were successfully fabricated as flexible enzyme-free glucose sensors through UV/Ozone treatment and sputtering of NiO/Cu films. The glucose sensor exhibited good electrochemical performance with a sensitivity of about 655.8 mu A.mmol(-1).cm(-2), showing potential for improving flexible sensor performance by integrating active materials on flexible wrinkle structures.
Enzyme-free glucose sensors are of great significance for monitoring patients' blood glucose, but the fabrication of high performance sensors is still challenging. In this study, we have fabricated NiO wrinkle micro/nanostructures through UV/Ozone treatment of uncured PDMS and then sputtering of NiO/Cu films. The obtained NiO wrinkle structures were demonstrated as flexible enzyme-free glucose sensors and the performances have been evaluated. The glucose sensor shows good electrochemical performance, and the sensitivity is about 655.8 mu A.mmol(-1).cm(-2). The proposed strategy of integration of active materials on flexible wrinkle structures has potential in improving flexible sensor performance.
