How much is enough? The convergence of finite sample scattering properties to those of infinite media

Antti Penttila et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that a cloud of spherical particles with 20% volume density converges in scattering properties after about ten million particles in the system. After this point, the backward-scattered properties of the system can estimate those of a macroscopic, practically infinite system.
