Thermally regenerable metal-organic framework with high monovalent metal ion selectivity

Simeng Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, a cation selective and thermally regenerable metal-organic framework (MOF) was developed for efficient separation of monovalent metal ions. The MOF exhibited high adsorption capacity and selectivity for Na+ and K+ over Li+ and could be regenerated at mild temperature in water. This work presents a promising approach for environmentally friendly monovalent ion separations.
