The concept of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has been around for centuries, but recent advancements have focused on their design, applications, and control engineering. The current emphasis is on integrating drones or UAVs with the internet. This paper discusses a widely used method for connecting drones to the internet, explores various IoT and integrated drone protocols, and provides a brief overview of the historical context and potential future research opportunities.
The concept of unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) has existed in the society for a couple of centuries now. But only in the recent past there have been a lot of advancements in their design, applications and control engineering of the UAVs. Currently the focus is the integration of drones or UAVs and Internet. This paper gives us a method that has been widely used to establish a connection between drones and internet, talks about the different IoT and integrated drone protocols that are used in various applications and gives a brief description about the history and the future research opportunities that exist and may arise in the future.
