Antibiofilm effects of titanium surfaces modified by laser texturing and hot-pressing sintering with silver

Ines M. R. Goncalves et al.

Summary: Peri-implant diseases are a major cause of dental implant failure, and new strategies involving laser-treated titanium surfaces covered with silver have been developed to inhibit oral bacteria accumulation. Two approaches were tested in this study, with results showing that surfaces containing silver were effective in reducing the accumulation of specific bacterial strains.
