Incorporation of Keggin-based H3PW7Mo5O40 into bentonite: synthesis, characterization and catalytic applications

Dipak S. Aher et al.

Summary: The molybdo-substituted tungstophosphoric acid based on the Keggin structure was synthesized and incorporated with a bentonite clay to form a catalyst, which showed high efficiency, yield, and green synthesis of 1,8-dioxo-octahydroxanthene and 1,8-dioxo-decahydroacridine derivatives under solvent-free conditions at 80 degrees Celsius. The surface acidity and catalytic activity increased significantly after impregnation with bentonite clay, and the catalyst could be conveniently recovered and reused multiple times without significant loss of activity.

Tungsten-substituted molybdophosphoric acid impregnated with kaolin: effective catalysts for the synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones via biginelli reaction

Dipak S. Aher et al.

Summary: A highly reusable heterogeneous catalyst (PMo7W5/kaolin) was synthesized by impregnating tungsten-substituted molybdophosphoric acid onto acid-treated kaolin clay using the wetness impregnation method. The catalyst was characterized using various techniques and showed efficient catalytic activity in the synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones via Biginelli reaction under solvent-free conditions. The 20% PMo7W5/kaolin catalyst exhibited significantly enhanced catalytic activity compared to other catalysts.

Monoterpenes etherification reactions with alkyl alcohols over cesium partially exchanged Keggin heteropoly salts: effects of catalyst composition

Marcio Jose da Silva et al.

Summary: The study found that phosphotungstate is the most effective Keggin heteropolyacid catalyst, and Cs2.5H0.5PW12O40 salt is the most active and selective catalyst. Investigation on the effects of reaction parameters such as temperature, time, catalyst load, etc. showed that the simultaneous presence of cesium ions and protons plays an important role in the reaction, with an optimal molar ratio of 2.5-0.5. The Cs2.5H0.5PW12O40 salt can be efficiently recovered and reused without losing catalytic activity.
