Azimuthal eigenmodes at strongly non-degenerate parametric down-conversion

L. S. Dvernik et al.

Summary: This study investigates the angular structure of scattered radiation generated by strongly non-degenerate parametric down-conversion in the terahertz frequency range. By certain approximations, azimuthal eigenmodes for the nonlinear interaction operator can be obtained, leading to the solution of evolution equations and the derivation of a scattering matrix for arbitrary parametric gain values. This scattering matrix describes the production of biphoton pairs and the generation of intense fluxes of correlated optical-terahertz fields, forming a macroscopic quantum state of radiation in two spectral ranges.
