The clinical significance of histone deacetylase-8 in human breast cancer

Golebagh Rahmani et al.

Summary: Recent studies have shown that HDAC8 plays a crucial role in cancer initiation and progression, making it a promising target for therapy. Overexpression of HDAC8 in breast cancer cells indicates its potential oncogenic role. Research on BC has demonstrated therapeutic effects of HDAC8 inhibitors.

Synthesizing and evaluating the photodynamic efficacy of asymmetric heteroleptic A7B type novel lanthanide bis-phthalocyanine complexes

Emel Onal et al.

Summary: Heteroleptic A(7)B type novel Lu(iii) and Eu(iii) lanthanide phthalocyanines with high extinction coefficients have been synthesized as candidate photosensitizers with reaction yields higher than 33%. The singlet oxygen quantum yields were measured and LuPc(Pox)[Pc '(AB(3)SH)] showed the highest quantum yield among lutetium(iii) bis-phthalocyanine complexes to date. Cell viability measurements on A549 and BEAS-2B lung cells demonstrated concentration dependent behavior and promising photodynamic efficacy of LuPc(Pox)[Pc '(AB(3)SH)].
