Influence of Nitrogen, Calcium and Nano-Fertilizer on Strawberry (Fragaria x ananassa Duch.) Fruit Inner and Outer Quality

Nika Cvelbar Weber et al.

Summary: Both nitrogen and calcium fertilization play a role in altering sugars, organic acids, volatile compounds, and phenolic contents in strawberry fruits, with the impact varying depending on the dosage. Nano-fertilizer Lithovit showed promise in increasing fruity esters content, while nitrogen fertilization had a predominantly negative impact on strawberry flavor.

Evaluation of Biochemical Juice Attributes and Color-Related Traits in Muscadine Grape Population

Jiovan Campbell et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the biochemical juice attributes and color-related traits of 90 muscadine grape genotypes, showing modest diversity in biochemical properties and significant variation in color-related traits. The genotypes were mainly classified into colored and non-colored groups based on luminosity index and hue angle, with further sub-clustering based on chroma index, total anthocyanin content, and total soluble solids levels. Principal component analysis revealed a negative correlation between color characteristics (L* and C*) and total anthocyanin content, suggesting the influence of acidity in enhancing nutraceutical components.
