New states of matter with fine-tuned interactions: quantum droplets and dipolar supersolids

Summary: This paper discusses how quantum fluctuations can stabilize Bose-Einstein condensates and lead to the emergence of new states of matter such as liquid-like self-bound quantum droplets and supersolid crystals. The properties of these exotic states and the experimental progress in dipolar quantum gases and Bose-Bose mixtures are reviewed. Important open questions for future research are also outlined.

Oscillatory stability of quantum droplets in PT-symmetric optical lattice

Summary: The study focuses on stability and collisions of quantum droplets (QDs) forming in a binary bosonic condensate trapped in parity-time (PT)-symmetric optical lattices. It is observed that the stability of QDs highly depends on the parameters of the optical lattices and the condensate characteristics. QDs exhibit different stability features in different PT phases, and their collision behavior is distinct from that in free space.

Mixed Bubbles in Bose-Bose Mixtures

Summary: Repulsive Bose-Bose mixtures are known to either mix or phase separate into pure components. Here, a mixed-bubble regime is predicted, where bubbles of the mixed phase coexist with a pure phase of one of the components. This effect arises due to unequal masses or unequal intraspecies coupling constants, resulting in a competition between the mean-field term and a nonquadratic beyond-mean-field correction. Parameters of the mixed-bubble regime in all dimensions are identified and implications for current experiments are discussed.
