CuxO thin films via ultrasonic spray pyrolysis as efficient solar photocatalysts: Single source polymeric coordinated precursor

Metwally Madkour

Summary: In this study, CuxO thin films were successfully prepared using ultrasonic spray pyrolysis with a single coordinated organic source as the precursor. Various operational parameters were investigated, and the precursor and thin films were characterized using multiple techniques. By optimizing the deposition temperature, different compositions of CuxO thin films were obtained, and a heterostructured photocatalyst of CuO/Cu2O thin film exhibited enhanced photocatalytic activity with low recombination rates and improved charge assembly.

Synthesis, characterizations and electrochemical performances of anhydrous CoC2O4 nanorods for pseudocapacitive energy storage applications

Neeraj Kumar Mishra et al.

Summary: In order to overcome environmental challenges posed by fossil fuel energy technologies and maximize the utilization of renewable energy sources, it is crucial to focus on high power and high energy density electrochemical energy storage devices. Pseudocapacitors, with multiple oxidation states for redox charge transfer, offer higher energy storage density compared to electric double layer capacitors and can address the low energy density issues associated with them. Pseudo-capacitive electrodes made of porous anhydrous CoC2O4 nanorods show superior specific capacitance and cycling stability, making them a promising candidate for large scale energy storage applications.
