CO2 mineral sequestration by using blast furnace slag: From batch to continuous experiments

Summary: The study proposed an indirect CO2 mineral sequestration method using blast furnace slag as feedstock. Continuous experiments revealed several problematic situations, but these were successfully resolved by adding an inert component into the feedstock for returning charge operation. The harsher reaction conditions in the continuous experiments were attributed to scale-up effects compared to batch experiments.

In the study of multimetal oxide catalysts, the various roles played by the components of catalysts are summarized from multiple aspects.

Summary: This study investigates the atomic-level mechanism and activity-limiting factor in NH3-SCR process over Mn-based oxide catalysts. It reveals that the superior oxidative dehydrogenation performance of Mn-based catalysts towards NH3 reduces energy barriers for NH3 activation, facilitating the formation of key intermediate NH2NO. These findings advance the understanding of Mn-based SCR catalysts and provide a fundamental basis for future generation SCR catalysts with excellent low-temperature activity.

CO2 mineral carbonation using industrial solid wastes: A review of recent developments

Summary: This paper reviews the development of CO2 mineral carbonation technologies using industrial solid waste as feedstock and identifies energy and cost consumption concerns as limitations for scale-up applications. Further research on process parameter optimization and equipment design is needed to address these limitations and improve the feasibility for industrial applications. Recovery of high-value products during the carbonation process is highlighted as a potential solution to improve the economic viability of the process. Additionally, suggestions for future research directions include evaluating CO2 net emission reduction through life cycle assessment and developing new energy-saving approaches.

The combination effects of K2O and PbO poisoning on NH3-SCR TiO2-CeO2 catalyst

Summary: This study investigated the poisoning effects of K2O and PbO on the NH3-SCR performance of TiO2-CeO2 catalyst, and found a stronger toxicity when both were introduced simultaneously, hindering electron transfer and surface acidity. Furthermore, the combination of K and Pb reduced the activation performance of NOx species and did not alter the Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanism of the catalyst.
