Critical review on third generation micro algae biodiesel production and its feasibility as future bioenergy for IC engine applications

Ashwin Jacob et al.

Summary: Third generation micro algae feedstock cultivation and fuel production offer sustainable and economic benefits due to their microscopic nature. Each step in producing micro algae biodiesel can be optimized to improve production efficiency. Utilizing optimized micro algae biodiesel blends in IC engines requires calibrating engine parameters for ideal performance. Studies have shown that closed type reactors are effective for continuous cultivation of micro algae. Techno-economic analysis suggests that maintenance costs need to be significantly reduced for commercial availability of micro algae biodiesel.

Yields and Variability of Ozone Reaction Products from Human Skin

Glenn C. Morrison et al.

Summary: The study found that ozone exposure resulted in the production of volatile products on human skin, with significant variations in product yields and emission rates among participants possibly due to differences in skin lipid layer thickness. Factor analysis suggests that variability among participants is mainly influenced by fresh skin lipid constituents, oxidized skin lipids, and exogenous compounds. The presence of oleic and linoleic acids, potentially from cooking oils or personal care products, also played a role in the observed variability.
